Wie Mädchen und Jungen ihren eigenen Körper erleben und bewerten, hat grossen Einfluss auf ihr Selbstwert- und Lebensgefühl. Ein verantwortungsvoller Umgang mit Gesundheit, Sexualität und Fruchtbarkeit kann nur dann gelingen, wenn junge Menschen dem Körper Achtung und Wertschätzung entgegenbringen.

In den Tagesworkshops, „Die Zyklus-Show“ für Mädchen und „Agenten auf dem Weg“ für Jungen, werden die 10-12-Jährigen behutsam in die Pubertät begleitet. Altersgerecht, mit viel Material, Spielen und Musik lernen sie die körperlichen und seelischen Veränderungen kennen und verstehen. Auch die Eltern werden an einem Vortragsabend im Voraus auf besondere Art und Weise mit den faszinierenden Vorgängen im Körper von Mann und Frau vertraut gemacht. Sie können Fragen stellen und lernen die Kursleiterin oder den Kursleiter kennen.

Das MFM-Projekt® wurde 1999 in München unter der Leitung von Dr. med. Elisabeth Raith-Paula gegründet und wird inzwischen in mehreren EU- Ländern und in der Schweiz angeboten. Es wurde mehrfach ausgezeichnet.

Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) Basic Facts
TSS develops when the common bacteria, Staphylococcus Aureus, produce a toxin which is absorbed into the bloodstream. The toxin rapidly overwhelms the immune system and attacks the major organs, leading to kidney failure, collapse of the lungs and in severe cases, cardiac arrest. Alarmingly, half of all known cases of Toxic Shock are women using TAMPONS.

Symptoms of TSS

• Sore throat
• Aching muscles
• High temperature; over 102 degrees F
• Vomiting
• Watery diarrhea
• Red rash
• Confusion
• Dizziness
• Very low blood pressure

Only one or two symptoms may occur!
They do not necessarily occur all at once and may not persist. If you have been using tampons and you experience flu-like symptoms and a fever, remove your tampon and go to the hospital immediately. Insist on getting blood work. If it is caught early enough, you have a much better chance of survival.
