It's a week of poi & yoga classes, it was my fourth time at the retreat and this is the very first video I've ever done. After a comment of a dear friend about the music choice I was reflecting about "Where do I want to take people to with my video?" and I would like to share it with you.
INFORMATION - Filming & editing: Franziska Neuhaus - Firedancing.ch. Video gear & technical support: Yannick Barthe. Camera: Sony NEX-5n. Editing program: iMovie. Music: Nuvole Bianche - Ludovico Einaudi.
MY EXPERIENCE - The Poi & Yoga Retreat 2012 was, once again, a very special week for me. A week of meeting beautiful people, in a beautiful surrounding and with beautiful activities. Poi & yoga classes, meditation, singing, laughing, dancing… this all made me deeply reconnect with my inner core, my soul. We heard this piano piece "Nuvole Bianche" the whole week live, by someone who was practicing it on the piano in the music area and we played it on the stereo system, too. It was this beautiful underlying song that accompanied me during the week and therefor it was my very first and only choice for my video.
The deep reconnection with my inner core had a huge healing impact on me. During one of the meditations with a singing bowl I felt its vibrations like an overwhelming wave of Love breaking down the big walls I had unconsciously built up around my soul over years, washing away all the sorrow and the blockades that had been suffocating it. I felt like a river that was suddenly freed from a big dam. This left a powerful inner space of Stillness and Love. Like the calmness and the pure air after a cleansing storm. I felt evermore vibrant and free from that moment on. The powerful piano piece of Ludovico Einaudi brings me back to that space deep down at my core, where the Stillness and Love lies.
I don't want to choose where this video takes the people to. It was such a joy to see all these smiling faces during the editing process and I want to simply share where this retreat took me and maybe the music will take you wherever it needs to take you!
THANK YOU - My special thanks go to our poi teachers Nick Woolsey & Jon Everett from Playpoi & to our yoga teacher Adrian Wirth from Oshadi-Yoga. Thank you for creating such a blessing of an event!

And a very special thanks to Yannick Barthe for his great video gear and the precious technical support on my first video! Learning by watching - I've been watching you filming & editing for over 2 years and got the virus without even noticing it!
